چکیده

We develop a theory of optical transitions in Coulomb impurity-doped two-dimensional transition metal dichalcogenide monolayers and study the from spin-resolved valence band to (Coulomb) donor acceptor impurities under influence synthetic valley-selective magnetic field produced by mechanical strain. It is shown that properties system are determined strength field, which uncovers an experimental tool, can be used manipulate materials valley magneto-optoelectronics.

Impurity-induced magnetic order in low-dimensional spin-gapped materials.

We have studied the effect of nonmagnetic Zn impurities in the coupled spin ladder Bi(Cu_{1-x}Zn_{x})_{2}PO_{6} using ;{31}P NMR, muon spin resonance (microSR), and quantum Monte Carlo simulations. Our results show that the impurities induce in their vicinity antiferromagnetic polarizations, extending over a few unit cells. At low temperature, these extended moments freeze in a process which is...

Electron band structure in a two-dimensional periodic magnetic field.

In this paper we study the energy spectrum of a two dimensional electron gas (2DEG) in a two dimensional periodic magnetic field. Both a square magnetic lattice and a triangular one are considered. We consider the general case where the magnetic field in a cell can be of any shape. A general feature of the band structure is bandwidth oscillation as a function of the Landau index. A triangular m...

Two phase transitions induced by a magnetic field in graphite.

Different instabilities have been speculated for a three-dimensional electron gas confined to its lowest Landau level. The phase transition induced in graphite by a strong magnetic field, and believed to be a charge density wave, is the only experimentally established case of such instabilities. Studying the magnetoresistance in graphite for the first time up to 80 T, we find that the magnetic ...

Field-induced magnetic transitions in the quasi-two-dimensional heavy-fermion antiferromagnets Ce n RhIn 3n+2 (n = 1 or 2) Abstract We have measured the field-dependent heat capacity in the tetragonal antifer-romagnets CeRhIn 5 and Ce 2 RhIn 8 , both of which have an enhanced value of the electronic specific heat coefficient γ ∼ 400 mJ/mol-Ce K 2 above T N. For T < T N , the specific heat data ...
